Our journey to creating Cidade Velha Diving began with a single visit to Cape Verde. From the moment we arrived in Cidade Velha, we were captivated by its stunning natural beauty, rich cultural heritage, and the warmth of its people. With decades of experience teaching others how to dive and sharing the underwater world with people from all walks of life, we felt an instant connection to this incredible island and its untouched ocean landscapes.

Cape Verde’s waters are some of the most vibrant we’ve ever encountered – teeming with life, color, and diverse marine ecosystems. Here, the underwater world is waiting to be explored, and we wanted to create a place where anyone, from complete beginners to experienced divers, can experience this hidden beauty.

Inspired by our love for Cidade Velha, we decided to stay and share what we had found. Our center is dedicated not only to helping people dive but also to creating meaningful, memorable experiences. We work closely with the local community, supporting the people who make this place so special, and we emphasize a deep respect for both the environment and the individual journey of every diver.
